Round Two begins here

The 2006 Fishing Bracketology contest continues here. Thank you for all your input on Round 1. Remember, it's not too late to have fun with this so pass it along to a fishing co-worker, and help us figure out which is the Treasure Coast's favorite fish - and for what reason.

Like before, just post your comments below. This round will complete Tuesday, March 21 at 4 p.m.

Here are some stats from Round 1. We had 14 (including me) folks chime in. Only one species of fish received 0 votes - my favorite - the jack crevalle. Probably because everyone has caught more than their share of jacks. The warmouth only picked up one vote mostly because no one probably knows what it is.

Big news was that we already lost a No. 1 seed and another had to go into overtime, then lost.
Say goodbye to Tarpon, upended 8-6 by the feisty mangrove snapper. Also, Sailfish Capital of the World was not enough to save the spindlebeaks - who lost on the old coin flip after netting a 7-7 tie with amberjack. Ultimately, the majority of this group was voting with its stomach.

Apparently, trout is not flavorful enough, flounder is more commonly eaten than tripletail, and wahoo are considered a more desirable delicacy than grouper. Anyway, this is not like our presidential elections with elctoral colleges and judges recounting votes. You have spoken and it's time to move on.

Here is Round Two:
Offshore Region
Amberjackvs.Kingfish
Dolphin vs. Wahoo

Freshwater Region
Largemouth bass vs. Catfish
Bluegill vs. Crappie/speck

Inshore Region
Mangrove snapper vs. redfish
Snook vs. Flounder

Wild Card Region
Goliath grouper vs. Bonefish
Sawfish vs. Puffer
